WTO SPS TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ACTIVITIES IN 2010

The Secretariat of the WTO plans to organize a number of specific technical assistance activities on the Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS Agreement) in 2010:

 

e-Training Courses on the SPS Agreement (https://etraining.wto.org)

• In English: from 29 March to 21 May. Registration deadline 12 March

• In Spanish: from 26 April to 18 June. Registration deadline 13 April

• In English: from 10 May to 2 July. Registration deadline 30 April

• In French: from 31 May to 23 July. Registration deadline 21 May

 

National SPS Seminars

• Upon request by any WTO Member or Observer. For information, please consult document G/SPS/GEN/997

 

Workshop on the Transparency Provisions of the SPS Agreement (in English, French, Spanish)

• In Geneva, from 18 to 22 October 2010

• Open to all WTO Members and Observers. Least-developed and developing countries may apply for funding

• Pre-requisite: activity for SPS Enquiry Points and SPS National Notification Authorities

• Deadline for application: 9 July 2010

 

Regional SPS Workshop for Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Caucasus (in English)

• Venue to be confirmed. Week of 8 November 2010

• Eligible WTO Members and Observers: Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Russian Federation, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan
